Water Birds

I think it’s quite adventurous to photograph water birds, waterfowl, and shorebirds because they bring together motion, light, and environment in a way few subjects do. There’s elegance in a heron standing perfectly still, power in a duck lifting off the water, and constant energy in sandpipers racing the tide. Every scene feels alive and unpredictable.

These birds are inseparable from their habitats. Reflections on the water, ripples from a landing, wind shaping feathers, waves and mudflats as a backdrop. Photographing them isn’t just about the bird, but about capturing a moment in a living landscape. It’s a blend of grace, wildness, and ever-changing conditions is what makes photographing water birds so incredible.
